You are a strategic policy professional with strong analytical skills political acuity and a talent for translating complex data into clear insights. You excel at leading research initiatives guiding policy development and building trusted relationships with government partners. You have:

  • Post-secondary education in public policy political science social sciences public affairs or related field
  • Minimum five years progressive experience with policy development government advocacy policy research and analysis and stakeholder relations
  • Knowledge of Ontarios property assessment and taxation legislative framework including the Assessment Act Municipal Property Assessment Act 1997 Municipal Act 2001 City of Toronto Act 2006 and other related regulations
  • Understanding of federal provincial and municipal legislative and political processes
  • Ability to assess policy impacts develop recommendations and communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Strong leadership project management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong judgment diplomacy and ability to manage confidential information
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to head office field offices and corporate events across Ontario as needed

What you will do:

  • Lead research and analysis on legislative regulatory and policy changes providing recommendations to senior leadership
  • Develop analytical approaches work plans and reports that support MPACs policy positions
  • Conduct inter-jurisdictional research and quantitative analysis to assess impacts of proposed changes
  • Build strong relationships with the Ministry of Finance and other government partners
  • Represent MPAC on committees and projects related to assessment policy
  • Support the development of assessment policy options and change management plans
  • Prepare briefing materials presentations and evidence-based insights for MPAC leadership and government stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams to collect data align initiatives and support corporate priorities
  • Provide expert advice on legislative and policy matters to staff senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Lead and develop team members manage performance and oversee workflow
  • Support budget planning monitor expenditures and prepare business case
