Job Summary

Cornell University welcomes candidates for the position of Gift Intention Specialist in our Alumni Affairs and Development division based in Ithaca NY. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the universitys advancement efforts.

Position Summary

Gift Intention Specialist serves to perform all functions related to gift intentions processes including reviewing interpreting researching and the creation of new and revised commitments pledge bill reminders. This position is responsible for a suite of quarterly pledge-related reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret gift agreements to ensure correct and complete recording of pledge commitments and adjustments in accordance with CASE IRS and GAAP standards.

  • Research pledge related topics for customers partners and donors through resolution.

  • Create analyze and maintain accurate and complete reports related to pledge activity for divisional leadership and for Cornell financial partners.

  • Support the gift intention team with workflow and workload in dynamically changing environment.

  • Seek avenues of efficiencies in process and tasks while maintaining mission standards and goals of the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 3-5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in self-directed proactive work within a team environment

  • Ability to analyze data implore professional judgement and critical thinking skills to ensure data integrity to meet customer and partner needs and meet timely deliverables

  • Strong collaborative and communication skills

  • Strong reporting skills and technology acumen

  • Resilience amidst constantly changing work environment while maintaining prioritization within high level of work volume

Work Location

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role remotely 3 days per week and on-campus 2 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify suspend revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
