Job Summary
Position Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: Cooperstown NY 13326
Job Type: Contract Travel or Local
Shift: Day (5x8s)
Pay Range: Local $70$75/hr Travel $77$82/hr
Position Summary:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to deliver precise and compassionate radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients. The ideal candidate will utilize advanced radiation therapy equipment and oncology systems to ensure accurate treatment delivery patient safety and adherence to prescribed treatment plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary oncology care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescriptions and established protocols.
Operate and maintain Varian radiation therapy equipment including TrueBeam and 23ix linear accelerators.
Utilize the ARIA Oncology Information System for treatment planning verification and documentation.
Perform patient setup positioning and immobilization to ensure precise treatment delivery.
Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to patient needs or concerns.
Use VisionRT (Surface Guided Radiation Therapy SGRT) for enhanced patient positioning and motion management when applicable.
Assist with HDR brachytherapy procedures using the Varian Bravos HDR system.
Participate in CT simulation procedures using Phillips CT Simulator (CT Sim).
Follow radiation safety standards quality assurance protocols and infection control policies.
Maintain accurate and timely patient treatment records.
Collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists dosimetrists physicists and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
Current Radiation Therapist certification and licensure as required by the state.
Experience operating Varian radiation equipment and oncology systems including TrueBeam 23ix and ARIA (required).
Experience with VisionRT (SGRT) preferred.
Experience with HDR brachytherapy systems and CT simulation equipment preferred.
Strong attention to detail patient care skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary oncology environment.
