Job Summary

Our client is a growing e-payments and financial services provider. As part of their growth they are now seeking to recruit a Cards Manager to join their fast growing and dynamic team in Malta (this position is full in office not hybrid).

The opportunity to join the team at this stage in the Institutions journey provides for an exciting and rewarding experience. The Card Manager will be responsible for the Cards Product proposition managing and maintaining the lifecycle of card products offered and ensuring appropriate positioning of the product. This role requires a combination of technical operational and product skills to ensure the smooth functioning of card products while meeting compliance and business objectives.

Tasks

  • Oversee the lifecycle of card products from development and launch to updates and discontinuation while ensuring that card products meet market demand customer expectations and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor card products performance and make recommendations for improvements or enhancements
  • Handle day-to-day operations related to card issuance activation and usage and managing the configuration and maintenance of card management systems and related software
  • Collaborate with card processing vendors payment networks (e.g. Visa Mastercard) and internal teams to ensure seamless operations
  • Provide support to internal teams and customers regarding card-related queries and escalations
  • Ensure card products comply with local and international regulations such as PSD2 AML/CFT and PCI DSS
  • Liaise with third-party providers to manage relationships and service agreements and coordinate with vendors for new card designs upgrades or changes in card functionality
  • Lead and participate in projects related to new card product launches or system upgrades and coordinate cross-functional teams including IT compliance and operations for successful implementation
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on the performance of card products and using data insights to identify trends and recommend strategies for growth or cost optimisation
  • Ensure card management systems are functioning correctly including regular updates and testing
  • Work with IT team to troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to card processing or functionality
  • Provide training to staff on card products processes and customer service techniques
  • Develop and maintain FAQs troubleshooting guides and training material for card-related services while ensuring team members are aware of updates or changes to card operations and policies
  • Track and analyse key metrics such as card usage transaction volumes and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business administration banking & finance or a related field
  • Familiarity with card management systems payment processing platforms and regulatory compliance systems especially within the electronic money services industry
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the financial services sector including experience within the Card Issuing space which is a core requirement for this role
  • Ability to analyse data and trends for decision-making and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills for interacting with vendors teams and customers
  • Strong attention to detail with the capability to ensure accuracy in system configurations reporting and compliance adherence
  • Knowledge of payments ecosystem understanding of card networks interchange fees and payment gateways
  • Ability to work on his / her own initiativeandas part of a team and possesses strong interpersonal skills
