The City of Newcastle (CN) has an exciting career opportunities for a TraineeDevelopment Compliance Officer!

This opportunity is a 2-year fixed-term contract within our Planning and Environment directorate.

During your traineeship you will assist with basic administrative tasks and supporting investigations and assessments related to unauthorised development non-compliance with development approvals and fire safety measures within CN.

This traineeship will see you gain knowledge and experience in regulatory processes and compliance practices building foundational technical expertise and customer service skills.

If you are successful in progressing to the next stage of our recruitment process:

You will be required to attend 1 x group assessment centre for a 3-hour period between Monday 16 February Thursday 19 February 2026.

Remuneration: From $37856.48 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment 12% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week
