5 DCs over 3 provinces with increasing amount of technologyand automation requires a uniform approach to ensure all DCsare controlling maintaining all assets and MHE and keepingcritical spares for all.
Reporting to theHead of Operations
Your responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a national facilitiesmanagement strategy that aligns with company goalsand objectives. Develop and implement strategies to optimise site performance including process
improvements technology upgrades and workforcemanagement. - Lead and manage a team of facilities professionals including facility managers maintenance techniciansand contractors.
- Collaborate with DC GMs national managers and otherdepartments to align distribution center operations withoverall business objectives.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of facilitiesincluding HVAC electrical plumbing and structuralsystems. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws safety regulations company policies including health andsafety standards and industry best practices.
- Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for facilitiesmaintenance repairs and capital projects.
- Lead motivate and develop site management teamsfostering a culture of continuous improvement andexcellence. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for site operations taking corrective
action as necessary to achieve targets. - Collaborate with other departments to ensure facilitiessupport business operations and objectives.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to identify areas forimprovement and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement energy efficiency andsustainability initiatives.
- Conduct RFQs and negotiate contracts with vendorsand contractors.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across sites and with other parts of the business to ensure a cohesive approach to distribution and logistics. Ensure effective communication and reporting to senior
management and stakeholders. - Stay informed of industry trends and best practices indistribution center operations and incorporate innovativesolutions as appropriate.
- Key contact between Dc Ops and landlords of all sites.
- Strategic alignment across DCs: 5 DCs over 3 provinceswith increasing amount of technology and automationrequires a uniform approach to ensure all DCs arecontrolling maintaining all assets and MHE and
keeping critical spares for all.
Attributes/Experience:
- Professional certification (e.g. CFM FMP) leadership skills with the ability to manage andmotivate teams across different locations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with afocus on operational efficiency and cost of supply chain management software andsystems including warehouse management systems (WMS). Exceptional communication and interpersonalskills with the ability to work effectively withstakeholders at all levels. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Experience with budget management and financialanalysis.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry bestpractices.
- Experience with energy management and sustainabilityinitiatives preferred.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS)and computerized maintenance management systems(CMMS) will be beneficial.
Qualifications/requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Facilities Management Engineering Business Administration Supply ChainManagement or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in facilities managementor distribution centre management with a proven trackrecord of successfully managing multiple sites
