Heres what youll be up to
As a Community Facilities and Recreation Operations Assistant youll play a vital role in ensuring Councils community and recreation facilities are safe welcoming and ready for use.
- Youll be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of our facilities. Youll be hands on with key tasks such as undertaking daily facility inspections managing stock and supplies implementing work programs liaising with contractors and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Every day is different in this role. Youll move between operational problem-solving customer engagement and contributing to projects that improve our facilities and services.
- Success in this role means delivering safe well-presented spaces building strong relationships and ensuring our facilities support a wide range of community activities.

This position will be offered as a full-time temporary role until 13 November 2026.

The must-know bits
You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review to progress through the recruitment process.
