Job Summary

*This a fully remote position requiring up to 75% domestic travel.*

The Health IT Specialist will support the implementation and optimization of EHR-based solutions across Acadias therapeutic areas. This role is primarily field-facing partnering with the account teams and working directly with health systems to scope workflow interventions guide pilots and capture feedback. The HIT Specialist ensures that HIT solutions are adopted effectively at the customer level while serving as a bridge between field execution and Acadias central HIT strategy team.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Health IT Specialist is primarily responsible for executing HIT initiatives in the field ensuring that solutions are scoped adopted and continuously improved through close collaboration with provider IT teams and Acadia colleagues including but not limited to brand marketing market access and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provider Workflow Engagement
    • Partner with IDN and Clinics IT leaders to identify areas of opportunity for interventions.
    • Engage with IDNs and Clinics on workflow assessments to identify opportunities for improved outcomes.
    • Educate on digital assets needed to support health system collaborations such as removing barriers digitizing assets etc.
  • Education and Support
    • Serve as a point of support for account teams to apply HIT strategies and resources appropriately.
    • Conduct education and share knowledge with other Acadia colleagues
    • Guide pilots and rollouts ensuring adoption and seamless integration into provider systems.
  • Customer Feedback
    • Establish feedback loops with field teams to capture adoption barriers and operational challenges.
    • Report insights and Key Performance Indicators to refine future HIT strategy and execution.

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of major EHR platforms (Epic Cerner Athena eClinicalWorks) and major 3rd party systems (clinical decision support etc.)
  • Hands-on experience conducting workflow assessments within health systems or provider IT environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical and operational barriers during rollout and adoption.
  • Strong customer presence skilled communicator able to translate technical concepts for broader audiences able to influence without authority.
  • Integrity and commitment to compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Interpersonal flexibility to effectively engage with diverse provider and internal stakeholders.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Life Sciences Health Informatics Business or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Health IT EHR/CDS or clinical informatics within pharmaceutical biotech or health system settings.
  • Direct experience working with major EHR platforms (Epic Cerner Oracle Athena).
  • Demonstrated success implementing HIT solutions with IDNs Clinicals or other complex health systems.
  • Proven track record supporting pilots rollouts or adoption of HIT solutions within provider settings.
  • Ability to travel 50% as required.

Strongly preferred:

  • Advanced degree (e.g. MS MPH PharmD MBA or equivalent).
  • 5 years of progressive Health IT or clinical informatics experience.
  • Certifications such as HIMSS Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Certification RHIA/RHIT Registered Health Information Administrator/Registered Health Information Technician or AMIA American Medical Informatics Association Certifications.
  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacy workflows and CNS therapeutic areas.
  • Experience collaborating with account teams in pharmaceutical or biotech settings.
  • Cross-functional experience with Market Access Medical Compliance and Commercial partners.
  • Based in the East region with responsibility for covering the territory; reside near a major airport to enable regional travel.

Scope:

The Health IT Specialist serves as a field-facing subject matter expert responsible for driving the implementation and adoption of Acadias Health IT (HIT) initiatives at the health system level. This role operates independently within assigned accounts collaborating closely with provider IT leaders account teams and internal stakeholders to scope workflow interventions guide pilots and optimize integration of EHR-based solutions. The Specialist applies deep knowledge of clinical workflows and EHR platforms to identify opportunities troubleshoot adoption challenges and ensure sustainable implementation of HIT strategies.

Decisions and recommendations made in this role directly influence provider adoption the effectiveness of HIT solutions and the success of cross-functional initiatives. The Specialist is accountable for translating central HIT strategy into actionable field execution capturing customer feedback and informing future solution design. While not a direct people manager the role requires a high degree of autonomy judgment and influence across both provider and internal teams to advance ACADIAs objectives.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular standing walking sitting and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach climb balance stoop kneel crouch and maintain visual verbal and auditory communication both in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedule or business needs.
