Public Skills Australia (PSA) has been appointed by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) as one of 10 Jobs and Skills Councils. PSA works with employer and employee representatives from the Public Safety and Government industry-sectors Police Fire and Emergency Services Correctional Services Defence and all levels of Government to ensure Australias vocational education and training (VET) system delivers better outcomes for learners and employers. A primary function of PSA is to provide workforce planning industry intelligence and training product development in support of industry needs and government priorities.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Office of the CEO (OCEO) team as the Governance Support Officer. This position is accountable to the Governance Lead and works closely with staff in the OCEO and others responsible for reporting and compliance. The Governance Support Officer supports the corporate compliance and governance of the company including the development of annual reports maintenance of compliance registers updating of company information and implementation of the company Risk Framework under direction of the Governance Lead. This position supports several key relationships including with the Board Industry Advisory Group and Subcommittees. The successful applicant will require a combination of governance and compliance knowledge and stakeholder management skills to ensure the efficient and effective support of governance practice and knowledge across the company.
Responsibilities
In partnership with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders the Governance Support Officer will:
1. Lead the planning and logistics of internal governance meetings including coordinating agendas papers room bookings minute taking and catering.
2. Support the Governance Lead with reporting and delivery of company compliance with ASIC ACNC and the Grant Agreement.
3. Support governance stewardship of the organisation including ensuring all obligations regulations and compliance requirements for the company are adhered to as directed by the Governance Lead.
4. Prepare quality meeting paper packs for the IAG and Subcommittees.
5. Maintain outstanding action items registers and other compliance mechanisms for internal governance groups.
6. Support preparation for the Annual General Meeting of the company in consultation with the Company Secretary and Executive team.
7. Deliver quality work on time in line with expectations governance and consultation processes and to the required standard.
8. Taking minutes for governance and internal meetings as directed.
9. Manage shared inboxes in line with expectations for exceptional recordkeeping.
