A Brief Overview:As an Ophthalmic Technician you will play a vital role in assisting ophthalmologists and other eye care professionals in the diagnosis treatment and management of various eye conditions. You will work in a state-of-the-art facility and collaborate closely with our eye care team to ensure the best possible patient experience.
What you will do:- Performing preliminary eye examinations and assessments including measuring visual acuity intraocular pressure pupil reactions and visual field testing.
- Obtaining detailed patient medical history including eye-related complaints medications and relevant health information.
- Administering specialized ophthalmic tests and procedures such as tonometry keratometry optical coherence tomography (OCT) fundus photography and pachymetry.
- Assisting ophthalmologists during eye examinations surgeries and laser treatments ensuring patients are comfortable and well-informed about the procedure.
- Educating patients on eye care procedures pre-operative and post-operative instructions and the proper use and care of contact lenses or eyeglasses.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records documenting assessments test results and treatment plans in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Performing routine maintenance on ophthalmic equipment and ensure they are in proper working order.
- Assisting in the sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment for eye surgeries.
- Collaborating effectively with ophthalmologists nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive eye care services.
