The University of Miami Health System UHealth IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time IT Portfolio Manager to work in Miami.

The IT Portfolio Manager oversees and administers one or more programs and corresponding projects within the project portfolio and works closely with IT PMO Leadership meeting regularly with the Executive Director of the PMO and assisting with the IT departments governance. The Portfolio Manager interacts with IT leadership to identify potential projects that best align to the strategic priorities of the organization balances capacity against demand and connects plans and resources to project execution.

The IT Portfolio Manager assesses documents and budgets potential projects; perform project resource planning; conducts continuous monitoring and reports on portfolio health and participates in the departments change management process and staff training.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Worksto develop and implement best practices processes and toolsets for effective portfolio/project management and helpseducate staff on best practices and effective project execution.

  • Managesandleveragesthe life cycle of a wide range of cross departmental initiatives investments programs projects and outcomes to optimally achieve enterprise goals andobjectives.

  • Recalibratesthe portfolio as necessary when the demands of the business dictate a change in delivery or scope of work.

  • Collaborateswith Project Intake Team to manage the processes of reviewing new requests assessing project priority and making go / no-go recommendations toExecutiveSteering Committee.

  • Coordinateswith Enterprise PMO on management of large strategic initiatives.

  • Workswith the leadership team departmentdirectorsand project business sponsors to provide a comprehensive overview of capital and operational projects (overview includes theanticipatedoverall budget for each initiative in the portfolio).

  • Partnerswith the PMO on project requests processes and procedures through project completion including projects specifically managed by PMO/PMs.

  • Providesoversight to program and project managers within the portfolio and quality assurance ensuring that initiatives are beingwell managedand adhering to appropriate standards and good practice; developsandfacilitatesregular portfolio performance review presentations for Executive Steering Committee.

  • Managesall aspects of change control and risk oversight.

  • Developsan overall understanding of each initiative in the portfolio to understand the potential customer impact and service requirements generated by each initiative in the portfolio.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field

  • Minimum7yearsofrelevant experience

  • Operational Management:Optimizesday-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Organizational Development: Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness engagement and manage change.

  • Financial Oversight: Knowledge of financial operations and management.

  • Team Leadership: Ability to create andmaintaina cohesive and productive team environment build positive workingrelationshipsand work collaboratively with others.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software technology and relevant computer applications.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education experience and/or certifications may be considered.
