The Receptionist welcomes visitors (i.e. vendors customers patients staff students etc.) to the department by greeting them in person or on the telephone and answering or referring their inquiries appropriately.

Department Specific Functions

1. Call caregivers to confirm upcoming clinic appointments and maintain appointment calendars.

2. Work closely with Intake Coordinator on new referrals received via the Florida Early Steps
website faxes and emails.
3. Maintain referral logs to track daily and weekly referrals.
4. Work closely with the Office Manager to maintain inventory of office supplies.
5. Communicate with UM facilities when a work orders need to be place.
6. Bilingual English/Spanish essential.

Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel

  • Ability to learn and navigate Florida Early Steps data system and other platforms used in the program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Any relevant education certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:

  • General knowledge of office procedures and operations

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions

  • Ability to work evenings nights and weekends as necessary
