Your new role
As our new Director you will be part of the extended Global Buildings Leadership team as well as the APAC Leadership team. Your priority will be to drive growth in the APAC Buildings market delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to clients while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. You will be a visible leader both externally and internally championing Rambolls vision and values.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Leadership & Strategy: Instil purpose and set the direction for Rambolls Buildings division in APAC implementing and delivering the Ramboll Buildings and APAC Strategy. Lead and profitably grow the APAC Buildings Team (approx. 100 staff) through effective management mentoring and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Business Development & Growth: Take ownership of local business development plans including key client strategies sector planning and BD budgets. Leverage your deep understanding of the APAC market and proven track record in business growth to identify new opportunities drive sales strategies and achieve financial targets
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Drive collaboration and synergies with global Buildings colleagues and other business areas (including Environment Energy Transport and Henning Larsen Architects). Build and maintain strong relationships with clients partners and internal teams demonstrating cultural awareness and adaptability across diverse APAC markets.
- Technical & Project Leadership: Lead the development of new technical solutions and disciplines ensuring projects meet deadlines budgets and quality standards. Provide technical guidance and insight to your teams and clients
- Financial & Operational Oversight: Oversee financial management budgeting and forecasting for the Buildings division. Analyse financial reports to make informed strategic decisions to support growth
- Representation & Advocacy: Represent Ramboll Buildings in trade and industry associations in APAC acting as a thought leader and champion for sustainable building solutions
- Organizational Culture: Chair APAC Buildings leadership meetings promote a culture of openness and inclusion and foster professional development and mobility for colleagues across the region
About you
- Established network and in-depth insight into the APAC Buildings market
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing large teams (at least 80-100 people) and operations efficiently
- Strategic thinker with a proven track record in business growth and entrepreneurship
- Deep technical expertise in engineering architecture and consultancy sectors
- Experience in business development sales strategies and achieving financial targets
- Strong cultural awareness and adaptability to work effectively across APAC markets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English is essential and Malay and/or Mandarin are beneficial
- Effective at fostering collaboration and motivating colleagues with diverse skill sets and backgrounds
- Skilled in managing large-scale projects and multiple simultaneous priorities
- Strong financial acumen and problem-solving capabilities
- Relevant educational background such as an advanced degree in engineering business administration or a related field
- Resilience persistence and maturity to work within a large international matrix organization with 18000 colleagues globally including 4500 in Global Buildings
- Willingness to travel internationally
