The Role

As an Engineer II Software Development you will develop design automate and maintain high-quality cloud-based applications to help S&P Globals Markit Intelligence business grow. You will be working with a team of experienced application/web developers (in multiple global locations) business analysts and business stakeholders.

Day to day you will contribute to current and future technology architectural designs and development efforts towards various modules of S&P Global Markit Intelligence division. You will have access to market-leading tools and services and be part of a wider group that values technical excellence.

The Team

Reference Data is a growing product within DVA group. The Reference Data product services internal clients as well as external clients and is focused on developing a suite of Reference Data offerings for the broader marketplace. Our team is responsible for the design architecture and development of our news publishing applications using a variety of tools that are regularly updated as new technologies emerge.

Responsibilities

Candidate needs to:

• Participate in agile product development through all SDLC phases.
• Be an active player in system architecture and design discussions. Have a passion for technology and offer new ideas and approaches. Recommend product process and tooling improvements.
• Analyse business requirements design implement and test features. Understand non-functional requirements like performance scalability etc. aspect of the application.
• Build high-quality reusable automation code and libraries for future use in a timely and efficient manner.
• Work closely with the QA Development and Business teams and highlight issues and risks proactively.
• Embrace quality standards including code conventions code reviews unit testing static analysis and revision control. Coordinate with Dev/QA staff for product functional and system testing.
• Maintain and support all areas of the application.
• Work in an individual capacity as well as in teams across geographies.
• Work under the general supervision of the technology Manager and take direction from other Leads within the organization where required.

Education and experience

• 4 years of development experience using Java related technologies preferably in financial domain
• Strong experience with C/C in a production environment
• Experience with SpringBoot relational databases NoSQL databases
• Strong database fundamentals (query optimization troubleshooting etc)
• Experience with AWS cloud-based infrastructure
• Experience with automation technologies such as Maven CICD pipeline Gitlab/Github
• Strong fundamentals in data structures relational database and design patterns
• Experience building or working with APIs and services using REST JSON etc

Other helpful experience and skills:

• Good to have knowledge of Front-end technologies like ReactJs AngularJS
• Good to have knowledge of EDM tool
• Experience with Python is a plus
