6:00 AM 2:00 PM
7:00 AM 3:00 PM
8:00 AM 4:00 PM
9:00 AM 5:00 PM
10:00 AM 6:00 PM
11:00 AM 7:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25$30 per hour
Position Summary
The Donor Care Specialist I supports blood collection operations by recruiting screening and collecting blood donors through a comprehensive donor program. This role is essential to ensuring the availability of safe high-quality blood products while delivering an exceptional donor experience. The position involves both onsite donor center work and offsite community blood drives.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding customer service to donors patients staff and community partners
Screen blood donors to determine eligibility in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Perform whole blood collection and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures
Conduct blood collections at donor centers and community blood drives
Prepare label and process blood components and specimens for testing
Accurately document donor information deferrals and quality control data in electronic systems
Support donor recruitment and community outreach initiatives
Maintain inventory of donor care supplies and report needs to leadership
Obtain blood specimens from donors and patients as required
Maintain clean organized and sanitary work areas to ensure safety and compliance
Adhere to departmental and organizational policies including safety fire and disaster procedures
Consistently demonstrate service excellence and professionalism
Perform additional duties as assigned
Education Experience & Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
Prior phlebotomy experience
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a blood donor center or plasma center
Valid CDL Class B license (required to operate a bloodmobile and box truck as a backup driver)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer and laptop proficiency
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
