Apex is hiring a Staff Environmental Scientist I or Environmental Engineer I to be based in Vancouver WA. At Apex youll have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated group of talented engineers scientists and multi-discipline professionals on projects that vary widely in size and complexity- each making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. This role offers significant room for professional growth.
Your Responsibilities as a Staff Environmental Scientist I or Environmental Engineer I:
- Field collection of environmental samples (air water stormwater wastewater soil)
- Routine regulatory reporting related to stormwater wastewater solid/hazardouswaste and airpermitcompliance
- Preparing environmental management plans related to stormwater pollutionprevention spill prevention and solid waste operations
- Inspection and auditing for environmental compliance
- Problem solvingthroughselectionand implementation ofpollution preventionBest Management Practices fordischarge permit compliance
- Support a variety of environmental engineering tasks for remedial system designand construction
- Assistwith the evaluation and permitting of environmental projects
- Presentationofenvironmentaltopics to employees clientsand contractors
- Travel to project sites within Washington and Oregonrequired
- RepresentApexin a safe and professional manner both internally and externally
What were looking for:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Environmental EngineeringGeologyor related field
- Masters degreea plus
- Experience collecting field samples of soil groundwater surface water stormwater wastewater and air using standard environmental protocols
- Experience preparing regulatory reports and permit-related documentation
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certificationpreferred
