About the Role
BaptistCare is seeking compassionate and experienced Locum Chaplains to provide short-term spiritual and pastoral care across residential aged care in-home care community services and retirement living settings.

These are casual ad hoc roles supporting services during staff leave or vacancies with placements ranging from several weeks to several months. You will deliver person-centred spiritual care to clients and residents support staff and volunteers and work collaboratively with care teams across metropolitan Melbourne and regional/rural Victoria.

This rolemayrequiretravel within the community to meet withclients andcollaborating closelywith the shared care team to respond to the diverse needs of clients carers families and staff.

About you
Tertiary qualification in chaplaincy/pastoral care or theological qualifications with willingness to complete chaplaincy training within 12 months
Experience in chaplaincy or pastoral care
Current drivers licence and reliable vehicle (travel reimbursed)
Willingness to undergo a police check

• Ability todemonstratea personalactiveand authentic Christian faith along witha high levelof spiritual maturity

• Ability to recognise and meet the spiritual and pastoral needs of customers by designingdeliveringand evaluating person-centred spiritual care initiativesin accordance withprofessional codes and standards of conduct

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop andmaintainpositive working relationships with customers and to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

• Be capable and willing to lead Christian prayers devotions and reflections in a manner that reflectsBaptistCaresChristian identity

• Ability tofacilitatesafe and welcoming spaces which provide a sense of community and belonging treating all customers with equity respect and dignity

• Provide spiritual and pastoral care in ways that respect and value diversity e.g. age race faith culture disability gender spirituality and sexuality

• Ability to manage support and train Pastoral Care Volunteers

• Demonstrated commitment tomaintainprofessional boundaries and professional spiritual development in line with the Christian faith

• Demonstrated commitment to self-nurture and self-care

• Ability to inspire and encourage others to grow in their Christian faith and to embody Christian values in daily life particularly in challenging or complex situations.

• Capacity to integrate Christian theology and Biblical teaching into pastoral care in a sensitive andappropriate manner
