About the Project

The Southern Program Alliance is contracted by Victorian Government to remove most dangerous and congested level crossings. This is a critical infrastructure project with significant public impact. Work on a high-profile infrastructure project as part of a global team using continuous improvement methodology and innovative technology which enable us to leave a genuine legacy.

The Position

As a Signalling Testing and Commissioning Manager you will be responsible to lead the planning coordination and execution of commissioning and testing activities across complex infrastructure projects. This includes overseeing and leading the planning the resource management interface requirements Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) Factory Integration Testing (FIT) Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) /Site Integration Testing (SIT) activities and pre-testing activities in the lead up to major Occupations and Commissioning Events.

The commissioning and handover activities must meet the design intent operational performance requirements Rail Transport Operator (RTO) standards and regulatory compliance requirements. You will work closely with construction teams design consultants test teams technology providers subcontractors and clients to ensure a smooth transition from design to off-site testing on-site testing and commissioning activities prior to brining in new Rail Systems infrastructure into operation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and own the Testing and Commissioning Strategy for the project working with technical leads the design team rail systems manager the tester in charge and the applicable Authorised Rail Operator (AROs)
  • Prepare all Testing and Commissioning Plans to each of the AROs requirements satisfying works readiness processes and ensuring the outcomes of the plan are aligned with the strategies objectives
  • Plan and manage the program and budget for each Testing & Commissioning Event including but not limited to resource management and coordination and interdisciplinary interface (signalling communications train control overheads and track)
  • Manage testing and commissioning outcomes test logs and design modifications with the respective consultant responsible for the design
  • Ensure that all rail systemssignalling rolling stock power communications track civil works interfaces and safety systemsare tested validated and safely integrated before entering service

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelors degree of Engineering in one of the following: Computer and Communication Systems Electrical Electronic Mechanical or Mechatronics.
  • 15 years of experience as a project-based engineer in the signalling engineering industry
  • Demonstrated experience in commissioning management systems integration and stakeholder coordination across multidisciplinary environments.
  • Key technical understanding of ARO Standards Rail Safe-working Procedures and System Acceptance Requirements
  • Exposure to System Engineering & Integration with the ability to understand complete architectures and integrate subsystems
  • Knowledge of RAMS (Reliability Availability Maintainability and Safety) requirements and standards
  • Current Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle
