About the Role
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the Qantas Group We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager Group Finance Cash and Capital Allocation to join our Group Finance this role you will be responsible for the preparation and finalisation of the Group Cashflow and Capital Expenditure forecasts aligned to 3 statement model reporting across a diverse portfolio of business segments. Your insights and expertise will directly support executive decision-making and drive financial excellence across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Control the end to end process for Group cash and capital expenditure forecasting monthly results preparation and variance analysis including risk and opportunity identification
- Collate the cash and capital forecast with detailed insight to drive the delivery of Group Cash and Capital financial strategy and targets that will inform discussion and endorsement at Group Financial Leadership Team GLT and Board level.
- Management & performance reporting linking financial and non-financial key performance indicators and communicating results to key stakeholders to inform short and long term strategic priorities
- Process improvement identification and implementation to maintain an environment of continuous improvement and a best practice framework
- Working closely and collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency of content and financial outputs to incorporate into finance planning and to ensure alignment of critical information through various forums
- Management of a direct report to ensure their growth development and performance
- Support ad hoc projects and analysis across Group Finance and business segments.
- Ensure compliance with Group management systems policies and safety standards.
About You
- 5 years experience in aviation finance or 10 years in broader finance roles.
- Graduate degree in a relevant discipline and post-graduate qualifications (e.g. CPA/CA).
- Superior communication and influencing skills with the ability to positively influence stakeholders to overcome roadblocks to deliver successful outcomes.
- Extensive experience in financial management or accounting with exposure to forecasting financial modelling and integrated statements.
- Ability to critically evaluate budget analysis variance analysis and forecasting through a detailed understanding of business/segment cost drivers and KPIs
- An understanding of the Qantas Group Financial Framework
- Strong spreadsheeting and complex data management abilities and proficient in the design and development of presentations for varied audiences
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to resolve complex financial issues.
- Strong sense of urgency focus on outcomes and drive for success with a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting objectives to deliver key milestones
- Experience in project management or large-scale capital projects with an understanding of milestones and other relevant forecasting requirements
