Who are we looking for

Our Southeast Environmental Business is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join their team in Atlanta GA! In this role you will be tasked with supporting and managing GHDs existing environmental projects in Georgia and surrounding states in the southeast. This role will require a strong technical background in environmental assessment remediation compliance and/or due diligence.

In this position youll work on a projects with a diverse portfolio of environmental assessment remediation and compliance projects. Youll participate in multidisciplinary teams through the planning design and execution of environmental compliance due diligence assessment and remedial programs while building strong client relationships through clear proactive communication. With a focus on costeffective innovative solutions youll support GHD clients in addressing environmental liabilities and concerns turning challenges into opportunities for sustainable outcomes.

Youll also be handson in the field planning and implementing work such as sample and data collection monitoring well installation groundwater monitoring and remediation system operation and maintenance as well as coordinating remedial action activities and overseeing contractors and field staff when required.

This position can be based in either our Buford office or our future Metro Atlanta office!

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools methods and formats. Involves working independently.
• Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication evaluation and implementation of engineering solutions.
• Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
• Health Safety and Environment: Follow the organizations health safety and environment (HSE) policies procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them escalating serious issues as appropriate.
• Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology external regulation and industry best practices through ongoing education attending conferences and reading specialist media.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts aiding in the quick and accurate identification analysis and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
• Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
• Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.

What youll bring to the team:

• Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Environmental Engineering
• Professional Engineer license preferred
• 4-10 years of environmental project experience including the coordination and management of projects consisting of site investigation remediation and monitoring
• Experience completing multi-media site investigation and remediation tasks
• Experience in coordinating and simultaneously balancing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout GA AL SC and NC to undertake field work when needed (estimated up to 25%-50% of the time) potentially on short notice and potentially for up to several weeks at a time
• Experience with environmental due diligence (Phase I/II ESAs) is a plus
