Job Summary
The Senior Director of Board Relations and GSU Foundation Senior Director of Board Relations is responsible for providing executive-level administrative and strategic support to the Georgia State University Foundation (GSUF) Board its full body special committees and special groups. The GSUF consists of seven (7) committees: Executive Audit Development Finance Investment Nomination and Governance and Real Estate; two (2) special committees: Womens Philanthropy Network & Strategic Planning; and two (2) groups: GSUF Emeriti and the Alumni Association President. This role serves as the primary liaison between the Board executive university leadership and key stakeholders ensuring efficient governance processes and effective communication.
The Senior Director is responsible for leading directing delegating and assisting with all projects including matters involving university officials and other university stakeholders as assigned. This position reports to the Vice President for Advancement and President of the GSU Foundation.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all Georgia State University Foundation Board of Trustees activities and create experiences for activities related to the concert with the board chair or committee chairs; and president of the GSU Foundation craft the meeting content build a calendar two years out and ensure compliance with governance policies.
Organize Board executive meetings retreats and special events ensuring all logistics materials and follow-ups are executed efficiently.
Scout and select venues for meetings activities and retreats. Negotiate contracts and seek approval from university Legal and the President of the GSU Foundation.
Serve as the principal liaison between the Board executive leadership and key stakeholders ensuring seamless communication and operational alignment.
Oversee and coordinate project management efforts and special initiatives assigned by the Board or executive leadership.
Work closely with top-level executives including the President CEO and senior leadership team to align Board initiatives with institutional goals provide strategic input and facilitate executive decision-making processes.
In concert with Advancement leadership develop engagement plans to keep board members connected informed and provide experiences connected to their passion. Engagement experiences will require work with deans research and other executive leadership to match individuals with their passion. Work collaboratively with development gift officers to support Board-related giving initiatives and philanthropic efforts.

Individuals will also be required to work some nights and weekends when necessary travel (via plane train or car) at least 15% of the time within and outside of the state of Georgia.
