The Solutions Delivery and amp; Operations unit part of the Human Capital Management Practice specializes in end-to-end product lifecycle management focusing on customer-centric solutions for both internal and external clients. The Application Architect plays a key role in analyzing government information related to business architecture and consulting with stakeholders on specific elements for initiatives such as the Publications Ontario eCommerce Order Management System Production Print Equipment Consolidation and Refresh Surplus Asset Management System and other client-driven projects.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design and planning of IT systems and enterprise architecture.

and nbsp;Apply OPS Target State Architecture principles and adhere to established architecture and software engineering standards.

and nbsp;Design and manage reusable IT services across large-scale or multiple projects and establish and apply architecture standards frameworks and best practices.

and nbsp;Develop and maintain business capability models aligned with corporate strategy.

and nbsp;Contribute to enterprise blueprints and strategic alignment initiatives.

and nbsp;Deliver key architecture documents including Solution Architecture Document (SAD) Business Architecture Document (BAD) and Information Architecture Document (IAD).

and nbsp;Review Requests for Bids (RFBs) and present findings to the Architecture Review Board (ARB).

and nbsp;Provide ongoing support for security reviews ARB updates penetration testing and collaboration with business analysts.

and nbsp;Defines identifies and describes information architectural requirements with clients and obtains I and amp;IT management approval.

and nbsp;Analyze government information relevant to business architecture and consult with stakeholders.

and nbsp;Present architecture deliverables to Enterprise Architecture governance reviews.

and nbsp;Document architecture from business solution information and security perspectives.

and nbsp;Support security and privacy assessments and collaborate on risk mitigation strategies.

and nbsp;Work closely with IT leadership project teams and stakeholders across the organization.

and nbsp;Define application structures reusable components quality metrics and integration interfaces.

and nbsp;Develop and manage cross-platform applications in large distributed environments.

and nbsp;Monitor systems and define requirements for source code middleware and database interactions.

and nbsp;Shape the long-term technology roadmap and provide strategic guidance.

and nbsp;Advise on architecture policy and program development to ensure alignment with organizational goals and participate in innovation initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies for business fit. and nbsp;

This position is listed as Onsite; the resource is expected to work between the standard working hours of 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks) every Monday to Friday inclusive at the identified OPS office location.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Architecture and Design 50%

Proven experience completing business architectures in government or complex organizations and complex applications

Excellent knowledge and experience with a wide range of methods techniques and tools for business architecture such as but not limited to business functional modeling service lifecycle modeling business event modeling business process mapping value chain analysis and other related disciplines

Knowledge and experience of information technology providing the ability to integrate and identify IT-enabled opportunities to solve business pressures/needs

Defines identifies and describes information architectural requirements with clients and obtains I and amp;IT management approval.

Ability to collaborate with business professionals to identify and analyze business needs

Experience utilizing techniques and strategies to elicit identify validate analyze model and document Business Architecture

Understanding of IT-enabled opportunities for business needs.

Knowledge of IM and amp; IT strategic planning and performance management.

Excellent communication facilitation negotiation and consensus-building skills.

Experience translating business requirements into technical requirements.

Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards

Technical Skills 30%

Knowledge of public cloud services (IaaS PaaS SaaS).

Knowledge of Azure public cloud and hosted services (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365).

Understanding of multi-platform technology including research development implementation and security.

Understanding of security concepts and their application.

Knowledge of business process modeling data modeling information management and process design.

Experience with middleware gateways and performance considerations.

Experience in structured methodologies for design development and implementation.

Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large environments.

Experience with CASE tools project management software and business re-engineering tools.

Experience in data and process modeling methodologies and tools.

and nbsp;Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design techniques.

Experience leading multi-tier application infrastructure design and configuration.
