Job Overview
We are seeking a professional who will be responsible for completing FMLA disability and other medical leave forms for Urology of Virginia patients and their families on a timely basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process all paperwork for patients of Urology of Virginia and/or their family members for various leave programs (FMLA short/long term disability permanent disability work notes or other papers as needed
- Adhere to all FMLA and state guidelines for disability
- Phones: answers telephone within 3 rings in a courteous and friendly manner. Returns calls on the same day. Leaves no voice messages in the mailbox at the end of the day
- Informs manager and physician of any potential conflicts or patient complaints/concerns
- Assist patients with signing of consents explaining orders and any other patient instructions at the time of the hospital work-up visit
- Greet patients in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- One to three years of medical administrative experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of proper grammar spelling and punctuation for completing various medical forms
- Ability to manage patient phone calls in an efficient courteous and timely manner
- Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
