Job Overview


We are seeking a professional who will be responsible for completing FMLA disability and other medical leave forms for Urology of Virginia patients and their families on a timely basis.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process all paperwork for patients of Urology of Virginia and/or their family members for various leave programs (FMLA short/long term disability permanent disability work notes or other papers as needed
  • Adhere to all FMLA and state guidelines for disability
  • Phones: answers telephone within 3 rings in a courteous and friendly manner. Returns calls on the same day. Leaves no voice messages in the mailbox at the end of the day
  • Informs manager and physician of any potential conflicts or patient complaints/concerns
  • Assist patients with signing of consents explaining orders and any other patient instructions at the time of the hospital work-up visit
  • Greet patients in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • One to three years of medical administrative experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of proper grammar spelling and punctuation for completing various medical forms
  • Ability to manage patient phone calls in an efficient courteous and timely manner
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
