A vacancy has arisen for a Wg Cdr (People Ops - Pers (Trg) / Ground Combat & Security Regt / Prov) to serve as SO1 Training at RAF Honington on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 25 May 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
The incumbent will be at the centre of Force Protection (FP) specialist training. The posts reach will be broad and influential answering to the 1* Comd GE and 2* AOC 2 Gp in the Training Requirements Authority hierarchy. The successful applicant will have a well-developed understanding of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and the management of Risk to Life training activity for phase two and phase three training. The ability to interpret policy and develop innovative solutions at pace is essential. Leading a small team and communicating with a wide training network across Defence they will use their analytical skills to develop the provision of FP training requirements and delivery.
The position is aligned to the People Ops Pers (Trg) profession. Applicants from the Ground Combat and Security Profession (Regt or Prov) who meet the criteria are also welcome to apply.
They will be responsible for:
- Review and maintenance of all Training Requirement Authorisation Documents within the FP Training Authorisation Matrix.
- The commissioning of Statements of Requirement and Training Need Analysis for all new training requirements.
- Setting and review of Statements of Training Requirement and Statements of Training Task for all FP training requirements.
- The review of all training within the RAF Global Enablement FP AOR to assure Comd GE of operational relevance efficiency effectiveness and compliance.
- Attend biannual Customer Executive Boards (CEB) and manage quarterly FP pre-CEB.
- Conduct Role Analysis and produce Role Performance Standards (RPS) where required. Analyse and agree the content of externally produced RPS.
- Task the Training Delivery Authority to analyse and agree the content of Formal Training Statements.
- Review and update GCSP Role Performance Statements to reflect Defence and RAF command plans and current and emerging threats to Air.
