Job Summary
The Turners Outdoorsman Range Safety Officer assists the District Manager and Store Manager in keeping the range safety and maintenance up to company standards. This position will also work in various positions when the range is not needed. Follows the premise of being a committed team player responsible for achieving sales goals customer satisfaction and profitability growth as well as understanding practicing and being a strong proponent of the Turners brand and company culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet customers
- Ring up customers
- Answer phones polite and helpful manner
- Provides excellent customer service and salesmanship
- Responsible for assisting in store merchandising changes
- Receives stock and merchandise
- May participate in inventor tasks
- Actively involved in promotions sales and events
- Paint target hangers every night
- Clean range guns as needed
- Inspect range guns to verify they are in working order and free of any issue
- Understand range safety and firearms knowledge
- Upload customers data to training center database correctly
- Daily maintenance of range
- Take out range trash (shot up cardboard and trashcans)
- Sweep brass forward of the firing line daily
- Make sure all shooters are exhibiting safe firearms handling while on he range and correct any unsafe actions
- Adhere to The Training Center rules
- Demonstrates constant awareness of firearms safety
- Able to attend training seminars including some off-site
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate or GED certificate
- Prior retail or sales experience preferably the Retail industry
- Hunting or Shooting Sports knowledge a plus
- Prior retail cashier or cash handling experience is preferred
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Responsible for loading/unloading trucks lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Must be able to use both hands when handling a firearm
- Must be able to use a computer proficiently and grasp instruction to new software programs
- Must be able to stand sit bend and lift throughout the course of a scheduled shift
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional travel may be required (approximately 5% of the time-participating in events training seminars etc)
HOURS
- Hours-varied-OT may be required
- Requests for time off may or may not be granted during black-out periods
