This contract position is on-site providing a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of oncology while working with a diverse patient population.
In this role you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality medical care to patients battling cancer. As a Locum Medical Oncologist you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating various oncological conditions collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of oncology patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Administer chemotherapy and other oncological therapies
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic patient care
- Educate patients and families on treatment options and potential side effects
- Participate in clinical research and trials as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of employment
- Experience in Medical Oncology preferred
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of oncology treatments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
Schedule: 3-4 days per week 8a-4:30p
Call Requirement: 1 week in-house per month Monday-Monday
Setting: Inpatient & outpatient
Case Mix: 70% oncology 30% hematology
Support Staff: APP RN MA pharmacist social worker nurse navigator
EMR: Epic
Dictation: Dragon
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
