The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Service
The O&G service provides core obstetric and gynaecological care with a focus on safe high-quality regional practice and strong collaboration.
Scope includes:
- Antenatal intrapartum and postnatal care
- Gynaecology services appropriate to a regional hospital setting
- Emergency obstetric and gynaecological presentations
- Inpatient outpatient and on-call responsibilities
You will work within a multidisciplinary team environment contributing to:
- Clinical leadership and service delivery
- Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff
- Quality improvement risk management and governance activities
- Ongoing development of safe evidence-based O&G services
This role suits a specialist who values teamwork flexibility and continuity of care and who is comfortable participating in an on-call roster with local response requirements.
The Role
- Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer appointment
- Full-time part-time job share or regular rotation options available
- Participation in an on-call roster (on-site response required)
- Permanent appointment within NSW Health
Essential Criteria
- Specialist registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Demonstrated clinical experience across obstetrics and gynaecology
- Ability to work effectively and provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to teaching continuing professional development and quality improvement
- Strong communication and IT skills
- Capacity to manage competing clinical demands in a regional setting
