Director of Data Center Construction

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Provide executive-level oversight of all data center electrical construction projects nationwide.
  

• Develop and implement construction strategies processes and best practices to support large-scale and repeatable data center builds.
  

• Partner with executive leadership to align construction operations with company growth objectives.
  

• Support business development efforts by contributing to pursuit strategies client presentations and preconstruction planning.
  

Project Execution & Delivery

• Oversee project teams including Project Executives Project Managers Superintendents and field leadership.
  

• Ensure consistent execution of mission-critical electrical scopes including power distribution UPS systems generators switchgear grounding and low-voltage infrastructure.
  

• Monitor schedules budgets manpower planning procurement and risk mitigation across all projects.
  

• Ensure projects meet or exceed client expectations for safety quality reliability and performance.
  

Financial & Risk Management

• Maintain full P&L responsibility for data center construction operations.
  

• Review and approve project budgets forecasts change management strategies and cost controls.
  

• Identify and mitigate project risks related to schedule labor availability materials and subcontractor performance.
  

• Drive continuous improvement in productivity cost efficiency and margin performance.
  

Safety Quality & Compliance

• Champion a strong safety culture with zero-incident objectives across all projects.
  

• Ensure compliance with OSHA NFPA NEC and all applicable local state and federal regulations.
  

• Implement quality control standards and commissioning readiness processes for mission-critical facilities.
  

• Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive operational excellence.
  

Qualifications

Preferred

• Experience working with hyperscale colocation or enterprise data center clients.
  

• Strong background with fast-track and design-build delivery methods.
  

• Familiarity with BIM VDC and modern construction technology platforms.
  

• PMP PE or equivalent professional certifications.

Requirements

Required

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Construction Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  

• 10 years of progressive experience in electrical construction with significant focus on data center or mission-critical projects.
  

• Proven leadership experience overseeing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
  

• Strong knowledge of data center electrical systems commissioning processes and mission-critical standards.
  

• Demonstrated success managing budgets schedules and operational teams at a senior level.
