Strategic Sales Account Manager - Data Center Equipment Rental Solutions
Our client is a leading provider of mission critical test equipment rental for electrical load bank applications and is expanding further into the liquid-cooled load banks space to support new AI data projects for data center projects. The Sales Account Manager will drive business development for liquid cooling solutions in data centers. This role focuses on positioning rental offerings for commissioning firms data center owners OEMs and mechanical contractors to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical sales experience knowledge of data center mechanical commissioning processes and the ability to navigate complex project stakeholder environments. Candidate should be knowledgeable of newer technologies supporting the AI environment with DTC (direct to chip) and TCS (Technology Cooling Systems) applications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate sales calls with local regional or national sellers with customers that perform data center construction and commissioning
  • Develop and execute a sales strategyfor liquid cooling load bank rentals targeting data centers commissioning firms industrial facilities and large electrical contractors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the data center space as well as end-user companies including commissioning agents engineers and other decision makers
  • Stay on top of industry trends competitors pricing and client needsto refine sales strategywithin the data center sector
  • Pursue new sales opportunities by networking attending data center industry events
  • Leverage knowledge of commissioning processes to identify bid cycles decision makers and project opportunities
  • Provide consultative support to customers on equipment needs project scope timelines and commissioning requirements
  • Customize proposals and pricing models based on customer requirements ensuring alignment with company standards
  • Conduct onsite visits to assess project needs and strengthen partnerships (requires up to 50% travel to client sites and company locations)
  • Negotiate contracts with customers with the focus of GP (gross profits) for each job sold
  • Provide ongoing and post implementation support to customers to address any issues ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships
  • Support the overall strategy of the company and the Power & HVAC line of business and identify emerging customer needs to support fleet growth and future product planning

Qualifications

  • 6 years of experience in sales business development or account managementselling to: data center / critical facilities / critical power / Critical Cooling Industry - with responsibilities working for an OEM or Third Party Service - HVAC / Mechanical Liquid Cooling or related equipment sales
  • Established relationships with Commissioning Firms Engineering Firms General Contractors Data Center Providers Construction Companies Rep Firms etcdata center facility operators and electrical contractors
  • Proven success growing a territory showing consistent revenue growth meeting revenue goals in data center sales
  • Strong understanding of commissioning processes and sales bid cycles
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex projects without direct staff oversight
  • Member / Attendee of local professional chapters / conferences ( 7x24 Exchange Uptime Institute DCD DICE Bisnow AFCOM iMasons etc.)
  • Comfortable calling on new accounts going on jobsites etc
  • Ability to incorporate the Specialty Businesses into their presentations and product offerings
  • Must be a team player and be able to build long-term cooperative partner relationships with internal and external individuals who are part of the business development process
  • Effective Communicator-emails phone meetings etc.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications especially Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Teams
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus (Navy Nukes- EMN ETN MMNs Seabees Army - Power Generation Air Force Power Production Generator Techs Maritime Coast Guard etc.)
