Salary/Position Classification
- $16 hourly Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
- 3 hours per week
- 100% Remote Work Availability: No
- Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No
Purpose of Position
- This is a part-time non-benefited position.
- Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
- This undergraduate research assistant position will assist in the construction of an annotated bibliography and in data collection for an emerging research project looking at online communities popular among college students.
- The undergraduate RA would assist with summarizing and collecting relevant scholarly literature; over the course of the semester the undergraduate RA will likely also assist with collecting publicly available social media data and with drafting a pilot interview protocol to be used at a later date.
- The position would have the possibility of being renewed depending on securing further funding.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The undergraduate RA will be responsible for collecting reading and summarizing a variety of academic literature including theoretical work empirical research articles and white paper reports.
- The RA will spend two hours each week working independently and will also attend hour-long in-person weekly meetings to discuss progress and assign new weekly tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- Attention to detail
- Interest in studying social media youth culture and higher education
- Past experience engaging with academic literature and with constructing a literature review and/or annotated bibliography
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
