LifeSpire of Virginia is seeking a Food and Beverage Manager to support our CommunityThe Glebe in Daleville VA!
The food and beverage manager is responsible for maintaining or improving the health of residents by interpreting residents nutritional needs and providing for them with respect to food service. Must plan diets educate residents and staff and ensure quality of addition responsible for the service of meals and daily oversight of all service personnel within the Allegheny Dining Room Depot Café Catering as well as the Assisted Living and Healthcare pantries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes and develops a nutritional assessment and documentation medical record for the Higher levels of care areas of the community including nutritional assessment and screening within 7 days of admission development of dietary care plans follow up and reassessment with appropriate documentation through the AOD software program
- Supervision of food presentation and service; ensures safe and sanitary use of equipment and handling of food in accordance with all sanitary and facility standards
- Assists executive chef to ensure proper planning organization and use of food and supplies in order to meet food service needs and in accordance with community standards and budgets
- Completes other responsibilities relevant to dining services in accordance with all community and regulatory guidelines
- Manages and mentorsteam members
- Maintains awareness of and follows all of written and verbally communicated expectations policies and practices
- Follows policies and procedures and strives to uphold and exceed the standards for quality in all resident relations and performance criteria
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of food service experience
- 2 years supervisory experience
- Possession of current CDM license within 2 years of hire date.
- Ability to pass and maintain ServSafe certification. Test must be taken and passed within 6 months.
- Experience in hospital retirement community country club or other facility operation is preferred
- Thorough knowledge of the basic principles of dietetics food sanitation and service as well as familiarity with quantity food preparation
- Ability to work independently manage a team and establish good rapport with senior adults
- Previous experience in gerontological care preferred
