We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Lead Custodian to join our team in Victoria Canada. The successful candidate will oversee custodial operations ensuring a clean safe and well-maintained environment for our facility.
- Supervise and coordinate a team of custodians assigning tasks and schedules
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment placing orders as needed
- Train new custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures
- Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies and special requests
- Implement and maintain cleaning schedules for all areas of the facility
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance issues
- Prepare and submit reports on custodial operations and team performance
- Identify and recommend improvements to cleaning processes and procedures
Qualifications :
- 3-5 years of custodial experience with 1-2 years in a supervisory role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in using various cleaning equipment and supplies
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills for report writing and inventory management
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals safety procedures and OSHA regulations
- Familiarity with building maintenance practices
- OSHA safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as needed
