Job description

The multi-Oscar-winning creative Film & Episodic studio at Framestore has worked with some of the greatest storytellers in film today. Collaborating with directors and producers across the complete filmmaking process to help design plan and create beautiful images we focus on finding innovative creative solutions to support their vision and set new standards for visual effects in cinema.

About the role

We are seeking skilled Mid and Senior Animators for short-term roles from mid January - 1 May 2026. Please note that visa sponsorship cannot be provided due to the immediate and temporary nature of these positions. We are open to remote candidates located anywhere in Australia or NZ.

What youll do

As an Animator you will collaborate closely with our Animation Leads and Supervisors to deliver high-quality keyframe animation. Your work will focus on creating compelling story-driven and action-packed moments that align with the shows style and pacing.

  • Animate primary and secondary characters and elements.

  • Meet production schedules and deadlines.

  • Submitting shots for review and follow through with notes and feedback if required.

  • Work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative team to complete assigned shots.

Job requirements

  • Proven experience in creature and character animation.

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of Maya.

  • A strong understanding of physical motion weight balance texture and form.

  • Familiarity with typical rigging setups and animation pipelines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Reliability and good timekeeping skills.

  • Ability to embrace direction and adapt to changes.

You might also have

  • A knowledge of Modeling Rigging and Mel/Python scripting.

  • A traditional animation and/or art background.

  • Knowledge of human and animal anatomy as well as life-drawing skills.
