The City of Topeka has an opening for a qualified plumber in the Public Works department. This position plans directs and performs a variety of complex journey-level work to ensure the adequate and efficient operation of city-wide plumbing and mechanical systems including maintenance modification/upgrade and repair. Provides technical direction to departments and monitors technical performance of contractors.
What youll do:
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to various mechanical systems
- Inspect and diagnose suspected problem areas
- Repair various mechanical distribution systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with a minimum of four years of experience in installation maintenance and repair of mechanical/plumbing systems is required.
- Must be a licensed plumbing or mechanical journeyman.
- Must have and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license and meet the Citys insurability requirements. Please review the insurability guidelines here.
- Additional licenses or certifications may be required.
Entry rate of pay: $24.43 - $25.56 per hour depending on qualifications
