The Principal ensures that the school provides a safe supportive and academically rigorous environment that promotes student achievement equity and personal growth. This position requires close collaboration with faculty staff students families the Assistant Principal Superintendent Assistant Superintendent Athletic Director and the School Committee. The successful principal will positively shape student and staff culture fostering a sustained sense of school pride a culture of achievement and strong community Duties and Responsibilities:The Principal shall:* Serve as the instructional leader of Tiverton High School ensuring effective teaching and learning consistent with district goals Common Core State Standards Next Generation Science Standards and Rhode Island High School Graduation Requirements*Administer and/or oversee all school operations including scheduling student discipline attendance safety and building management*Supervise support and evaluate all school personnel in accordance with Rhode Island Educator Evaluation Model Tiverton School District policy and contractual agreements*Promote a positive and inclusive school climate that supports student engagement social-emotional development and equity for all learners*Develop and maintain effective communication with parents/guardians community members district administration and the Tiverton School Committee*Ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and local laws regulations and policies*Oversee the preparation and administration of the school budget and manage school resources responsibly* Support implementation of curriculum instruction and assessment practices aligned to Common Core State Standards* Lead the School Improvement Team in the development implementation and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan* Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsMinimum Qualifications:* Masters degree in Educational Leadership Administration or related field* Rhode Island Building Level Administrator Certification (required)* Five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferably at the secondary level* Prior administrative or leadership experience at the secondary level preferred* Demonstrated knowledge of secondary curriculum assessment and instructional practices* Proven ability to foster positive relationships and build consensus among diverse stakeholders* Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills* Commitment to equity diversity and culturally responsive practicesCompensation and Terms of Employment:* Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and in accordance with Tiverton School Committee policy* Contract duration to be determined by the Superintendent and School Committee
