- Assisting the principal in developing and maintaining an effective educational program consistent with state and federal guidelines and the philosophy policies and goals of the School Board.
- Assists in planning supervising and evaluating the instructional program;
- Participates in the evaluation of teachers and other employees;
- Participates in the development of a master schedule;
- Supervises instructional programs;
- Assists in providing leadership and direction in school based staff development activities;
- Assists in protecting the instructional time from interruptions and intrusions;
- Enforces standards of discipline health safety and general welfare for students;
- Conducts meetings with parents students and teachers;
- Monitors extracurricular activities at night and on weekends;
- Assists in preparing a variety of reports maintaining inventories and coordinating the distribution of materials books and equipment;
- Assists with the supervision of all extracurricular activities;
- Performs a variety of administrative responsibilities as delegated by the principal;
- Maintains facilities in a safe orderly and attractive manner;
- Participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings;
- Serves as acting principal in the absence of the principal;
- Serves on division regional and state committees as necessary;
- Performs related tasks as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in educational administration and considerable teaching experience. |
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS |
Possession of postgraduate professional license with an endorsement as a high school principal. |
