A vacancy has arisen for a WO or FS (NCC) to serve as a Non-Commissioned Controller at RAF Waddington Air Traffic Control Tower on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 25 May 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
Unit Role. To deliver Air Traffic Services in support of RAF Waddington based ISTAR Force Elements RAFAT ceremonial/engagement serials and visiting aircraft. Additionally to enable key multi-national exercises in support of Defence Priority Outcomes.
Position Role. Air Traffic Control Officer Provide a safe and expeditious Aerodrome Control and Precision Approach Radar Air Traffic Services to all airfield users at RAF Waddington both mil and civ within a dynamic operational environment.
Aerodrome Control Safely sequence the arrival and departure of radar and visual traffic. Control all pers vehicles and aircraft on the airfield.
Talkdown Control Provide a precision approach service to aircraft in adverse weather facilitate training and help maintain aircrew currencies.
ATCO IC - Operational and administrative direction and supervision of all WAD Tower pers on watch outside of supervisor hours.
Supervisor Subject Matter Expert and tactical management of the overall controlling task and all ATC personnel to maintain a safe and expeditious ATC output iaw with regulations.
Line Management Responsible for 1RO for OR6s within the Flt structure. Responsible for 2RO for OR2s within the Flt stricture.
Unit Exec Position May be required to adopt one of the Unit Exec IC or Deputy roles across the BM Safety Management Standards Assurance Training or Continuous Improvement pillars.
