Overall Position Summary and Objectives
The Science Program Analyst (Analyst) will gather organize and analyze quantitative and qualitative data in support of NIH efforts to prioritize human-based research and reduce/replace the use of animals in biomedical research drug development and regulatory testing. As appropriate Large Language Models or other artificial intelligence tools will be used to streamline portfolio analysis and report writing activities. The Analyst will track legislative policy and research developments and attend and summarize meetings related to human-relevant nonanimal methods. The Analyst will prepare slide presentations and/ or talking points on assigned topics as well as draft briefs and reports for senior leaders at DPCPSI/NIH.

Provide Technical knowledge and support in developing and evaluating the fellowship program establishing process and procedures and maintaining files.
Produces various detailed reports for use by upper management.

- Gather organize and analyze quantitative and qualitative data in support of NIH efforts to prioritize human-based research and reduce/ replace the use of animals in biomedical research drug development and regulatory testing. 1
- Prepare slide presentations and talking points on assigned topics for use by NIH senior leadership. 5
- Use Large Language Models as appropriate for data analysis and preparation of briefing documents and reports. 2 Evaluate develop and implement the fellowship program including the maintenance of files and documents; assess process and procedures and recommend improvements where needed.

- Works with Evaluation Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the DPCPSI/OEPR and other SMEs in the DPCPSI Directors Office to identify program/policies that effectively identify non-animal research methods.
- Contributes to evaluation efforts using the metrics that were identified collects internal data as appropriate and assists in drafting evaluation summaries.
Promotes fellowship program to educational institutions universities and candidates.
Conducts meetings and trains staff on various aspects of the fellowship program.
