Purpose of the Job
- Involved in long-term planning on technology which contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within Mechanical BoP System.
- Active participation in elaboration and verification of conceptual basic and detailed design of Mechanical BoP System.
- Standardization and methodology aspects for project activities.
- Functional reporting to your Sub - CoE leader.
- EHS: Implementation EHS policy & procedures of GE for design aspect.
Candidate Requirement
Activities:
Below activities shall be performed following project/NPI requirements.
- Contract analysis.
- Preparation of engineering documents including Design Practices Design Memorandum P&ID Functional Description Calculation Note Technical Purchase Specification.
- Organization and participation to design reviews.
- Perform design review validation which are delegated from the People leader/Consulting Engineers.
- Technical Bid Evaluations kick of meetings supplier follow-up and detailed design review and validation. Manufacturing clearance factory acceptance tests and operating & maintenance manuals.
- Prepare and perform technical training to clients/partners.
- Site support during erection commissioning and warranty period.
- Leading CPs of NCRs which are delegated from the Consulting Engineers/People Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Always keep GE Hydro Power Bedrock as priority #1: Safety Compliance Quality to Ensure product safety criteria are followed in design
- Escalate EHS Risk in the Lab/Site during visit
- Deploy Lean culture across the organization
- Drive cross-team topics within COE and linked to other COEs/Functions
- Challenge status quo to improve design/technology & customer value
- Escalate Internal NCRs and deploy preventive actions
- Escalate/Eliminate non-value-added processes/tasks
- Makes sound decisions also based on incomplete data
- Invest in teams development through competency management and technical trainings
- Demonstrate solid mentoring skills within COE
- Share technical expertise across the COE boundaries
- Create value through commercial support & Execute tenders on time with high quality
- Bring up ideas to optimize cost (cost out with design improvements)
- Review risks and opportunities at ITO stage and propose mitigation plan
- Identify and inform Consulting Engineer/People leader about the new technical customers demands
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Turbine Generator electrical Control System and Layout team engineers to ensure cohesive project delivery. Address and resolve any technical issues or concerns raised by stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with industry standards codes and regulations.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in mechanical BoP systems.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in hydro power and mechanical engineering.
- Contribute to the development of technical standards and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
Graduate Mechanical Engineer having minimum 15 years of good experience in Mechanical BoP System engineering for Hydro Power Plant.
English speaking and writing are mandatory.
Behavioral and Technical Skills / Competencies:
- Should have Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project management.
- Should lead the team will clear goal to achieve the execution with right quality and on time.
- Should demonstrate good client interactions and within stake holders
- Should be able to work with more than one projects simultaneously.
- Should follow the company integrity program.
- Should have good knowledge about EHS/safety rules which shall be considered during engineering.
