The County of Riversides -Riverside University Health System-Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nursing Education Instructor with the Agency Education Services Department.
The Nursing Education Instructor is responsible for planning and implementation of online in person & hybrid education as well as teaching and/or co-teaching classes for the Riverside University Health System-Medical Center. This positions primary focus is the education support and ongoing professional development of staff working in Unit-Based Telemetry Medical-Surgical Units Float Pool IMCU Overflow and care of patients after recovery from Cath Lab/Neuro/Vascular interventions once admitted to the medical-surgical unit.
The most competitive candidates for this position will possess a masters degree in Nursing along with the preferred skills knowledge and experience in nursing education educator experience in a clinical settingEKG proficiency procedural sedation as well as charge nurse and preceptor experience. Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of chemotherapy and oncology concepts with the ability to educate patients and/or staff.

Instruct organized in-service nursing courses to professional para-professional and volunteer nursing personnel.
Participate in planning curriculum teaching schedule and course outline; participate in evaluation and revision of instruction and nursing practices.
Research state-of-the-art nursing practices and instruction methods.
Conduct orientation programs for new nursing personnel; perform direct nursing care services as needed in response to emergency situations.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in nursing. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Equivalent to two years of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute hospital setting. A California Standard Designated Subject Credential in Registered Nursing may substitute for one year of the required experience.
Knowledge of: The scope and method of modern nursing and nursing education; staff training and instruction methods; communicable and other diseases medical terminology hospital practices and drug use abuse; legal aspects of nursing profession regulations.
Ability to: Effect in-service training programs; instruct motivate and develop professional capacities of nursing personnel; speak and write effectively.
Other Requirements:
License/Certificate: Must possess and maintain a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
Must possess and maintain a current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
A valid California Drivers License may be required.
