Position Overview
SCOPE OF THE ROLE:
Under the supervision of the clinical supervisor coordinates the vocational services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct initial vocational assessments of participants to determine employment viability.
- Formulates treatment plans in accordance with OASAS standards along with subsequent reviews.
- Maintains an active employment and vocational training data bank.
- Enters working participants status in HRA STARS data base.
- Collects copies of paystubs for all working participants and forwards to billing department.
- Constructs budgets in collaboration with working participants and monitors the same.
- Provide monthly vocational report along with Medicaid plan of self-support document.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the clinical supervisor.
- Additional functions may include- pose as surrogate in the absence of program director.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of two (2) years experience working with the substance abuse and / or homeless population. Must be an OASAS QHP and or CASAC/CASAC-T. General counseling and communication skills with good clinical skills a must. Experience required: Yes. Language preference: none.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of AWARDS word Excel and outlook.
- Visual and manual dexterity.
- Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office suite and Windows)
- The work environment involves no physical risk or hazardous conditions.
- To perform the essential functions of this job the candidate is routinely required to sit (50% of the time) and stand (50% of the time).
