Job Description Summary
The Technical Leader for the Machining & Tooling will be responsible for the technical leadership of a global team of machining engineers and specialists to execute projects supporting GEV Gas Power organizations. The technical leader will be responsible for developing sound strategic plans to improve safety quality cycle and cost to meet our obligations in customer fulfilment Tx and NPI execution. This person will lead project management of the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology projects supporting GEV machining and tooling technology quality and productivity this role you will coordinate with the various teams to drive the development and industrialization of new machining and tooling technologies in the Gas Power Supply Chain for new and serviced hardware. This role has the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the development and global industrialization of new machining and tooling technologies supporting multiple service and new make sites throughout the globe including NAM Europe and MEA.
- Support and provide guidance following the GEV Lean Principals and Tools
- Provide technical guidance for engineers and specialists in the execution of design analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards practices procedures and product / program requirements
- Recommend approaches to meet the technical and program requirements
- Outline resource planning needs to meet prioritized needs across new make and services locations.
- Formulate strategy and implement plans to achieve business goals and directives.
- Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
- Provide technical leadership to other personnel; mentor others in the organization
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures and executed to meet customer needs
- Monitor and communicate project status business issues and significant developments
- Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
- Participate and/or lead Kaizen activities targeting continuous improvement efforts
Desired Characteristics
- Bachelors Degree of Science in Engineering Mathematics Physics Chemistry or Computer Science from an accredited college or university with 7 years of machining and tooling technology experience OR 10 years of experience in machining and tooling technologies in development and application
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestic and international 15%

- Working knowledge of machining technology and the engineering network.
- Knowledge of special processes such as brazing welding chemical cleaning coating and manufacturing
- Additional experience in manufacturing and/or component repair for Industrial gas turbine steam turbines generators or Aero engines
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $111200.00 and $185400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
