The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) invites qualified applicants to apply for the Technology Support Specialist position.
Under general supervision manages maintains and monitors systems used in the management and repair of personal computing devices; serves as a point of contact for external vendors and a technical resource for lower-level technical staff on diagnostics and repairs requiring escalation; and assesses and recommends standard operating procedures for end-user monitoring and asset management.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Personal computing hardware and peripheral equipment personal computing operating systems computer security principles and software audio-visual peripherals and conferencing platforms
Diagnostic software and equipment
Troubleshooting testing and diagnostic procedures equipment and software
Tools and technologies used in Mobile Device Management (MDM) Endpoint Management and Privileged Access Management (PAM)
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) principles
The technology asset lifecycle including acquisition tracking maintenance and disposal
Voice over Internet Protocol technology
Competencies:

Legal & Regulatory Navigation Understanding interpreting and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Professional & Technical Expertise Applying technical subject matter to the job

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:Graduation from high school or equivalent and completion of 12 semester units or 18 quarter units in computer-related courses from a recognized college vocational or trade school or equivalent specialized training program.
Experience:Three years of experience troubleshooting and repairing personal computing hardware software and related peripheral equipment and one year of experience in end-user management systems administration.
Equivalency Provision:A CompTIA A CompTIA Network or CompTIA Security certification may substitute for the 12 semester units or 18 quarter units in computer-related coursework.
Additional Requirements:Experience with the following technologies is preferred: mobile device management (MDM) end-point management privileged access management (PAM) asset tracking classroom software management voice over IP (VOIP) and/or IT service management (ITSM) Platforms. Professional certification in the following is preferred: CompTIA A CompTIA Network CompTIA Security ITIL Foundation Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or similar MDM certification. A valid Californias drivers license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Multiple Choice Exam Performance Exam and Structured Interview.
