About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in the Social Work program. The Social Work program sits within Health and brings together a range of Academic Units; the Tasmanian School of Medicine School of Psychological Sciences School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology School of Health Sciences School of Nursing School of Paramedicine Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre and the Menzies Institute for Medical Research.
Across Health we are responsible for delivering health professional and allied health education in Tasmania and New South Wales and aspire to create transformative health and medical research solutions that meet the healthcare needs and wellbeing of our communities. This includes through the provision of direct clinical services which provide a learning and teaching platform for our students in a clinical setting.
What youll do:
- Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
- Undertake high-quality scholarly activities under limited supervision either independently or as a member of a team in order to meet and regularly exceed the Universitys performance expectations for Level A or B.
- Undertake scholarly undergraduate coursework teaching of a high quality including consultation with students marking and assessment connected with courses taught production of teaching materials and development of course material with appropriate guidance from the course or program coordinator.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline relevant interdisciplinary domains profession industry and/or wider community
- If teaching-intensive with research allocation:
- Undertake high-quality research of national and increasingly of international standing secure external competitive and other funding publish research findings and contribute to the successful supervision of research higher degree students in order to meet and regularly exceed the Universitys research performance expectations for Level A.
What were looking for:
- Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Experience in University-level teaching and learning.
- A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline profession industry (where relevant) and wider community.
- If teaching-intensive with research allocation:
- A good record of and continuing commitment to research that has achieved national recognition and made worthwhile contributions to the field of Social Work demonstrated by a record of quality publications presentations at conferences and preferably success in securing external competitive and other funding.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at:
Academic Level A and will have a total remuneration package of up to $125877 comprising base salary within the range of $83198 to $107587 plus 17% superannuation.
Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $155885 comprising base salary within the range of $114766 to $133235 plus 17% superannuation.
