Are you an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years post qualification experience working in a social care learning disabilities mental health or younger adults setting
If so then this could be the post for you.

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Complex Occupational Therapist service in Adult Social Care Walsall as an Advanced Practitioner leading OT provision within this area of our service. The Adult Social Care Complex OT Service provide equipment and adaptations for disabled children in their own homes Young people transitioning from childrens services adults with a learning disability or a mental health condition.


About the job

You will be responsible for the day-to-day practice of the Occupational Therapists within the complex team.

As Advanced Practitioner you will prioritise and allocate work and support the OT staff group to manage caseloads effectively ensuring compliance with our Performance Framework.

Working in partnership with the Team Manager you will ensure practice is of the highest standard and aligns with our Quality Assurance Framework identifying and where appropriate addressing any development needs.

To deliver a system of high quality consistent reflective supervision and appraisal for a small group of staff; including carrying out direct observations of practice and professional mentoring to drive up quality standards.

To specifically support newly qualified OTs staff by ensuring their caseloads are at a suitable level they co-work where necessary they have appropriate supervision and support and they are enabled to build both professional experience and confidence.

About You

You will have a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience preferably working in an similar setting.

Your will have experience of managing complex case work and of supervising staff students and/or apprentices.
