DSHS FTAA Payroll - Fiscal Analyst 3

Join our team as a Payroll Fiscal Analyst 3 and play a vital role in ensuring accurate payroll operations while making a meaningful impact!

As a Payroll Fiscal Analyst 3 you will support these missions by handling the states financial resources professionally responsibly ethically and timely disburse those funds in a manner according to the governing entities overseeing payroll funds. This is an opportunity to support the Departments goals and objectives by developing systems and processes that ensure that every paycheck created will be treated as if it were their own and that the fiscal responsibilities to the State of Washington are met with the highest level of integrity.

This is a hybrid remote position with a minimum of one day per week in-office required and additional days as business needs dictate.


Some of what youll do

  • Review and approve payroll documents and deduction forms
  • Consult on payroll problems federal taxes electronic fund transfers insurance and other miscellaneous deductions
  • Analyze and execute complex payroll transactions
  • Reconcile agency general ledger and subsidiary accounting records
  • Ensure payroll reports are examined and corrected
  • Process analyze and reconcile shared leave and other leave activities
  • Establish monitor and maintain payroll files for all employees are retained according to agency policy

Who should apply

  • Professionals with a bachelors degree which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting auditing or budgeting
  • Two to three years of relevant professional experience

    NOTE: Professional experience may substitute for education but not for the required credit hours. A masters degree in a financial-related field certification as a Public Accountant Internal Auditor Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant may be substituted for professional experience.
