Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026 Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service Peninsula Health Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health a newly merged health service with more than 22000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce providing new training education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026 all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

INFANT CHILD & YOUTH AREA MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING SERVICE (ICYAMHWS)
Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is friendly to infants children young people and their families/carers.
We provide accessible mental health services inclusive of family friends and support networks.
We are a specialist multi-disciplinary and intensive care mental health service incorporating the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers.
Our service is divided into two streams 0-11 and 12-26 years and includes specialist services in the areas of perinatal care neurodevelopmental presentations eating disorders and outreach support.

What youll be doing
As the Senior AOD Clinician you will assist young people and their families where the use of drugs and/or alcohol are impacting on the emotional psychological and physical wellbeing of the young persona and family members. You will take a lead and coordinate the understanding of Drug and Alcohol use in young people and the impact of them and their broader this role you will work in collaboration with discipline seniors team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to improve the communication with families assist solving problems and creating better family functioning through a family centred practice.
You will have experience and capability to plan with Child and Youth clinicians an integrated approach to treatment care and support to improve outcomes and experiences of people living with mental illness and substance use or addiction.
In addition it is expected that you will hold a small case load and provide comprehensive assessment treatment and case management to infants children adolescents and young people up to the age of 25 years of age presenting with behavioural emotional psychiatric or developmental difficulties.
