- Clean lubricate and adjust parts equipment and machinery.
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.
- Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections testing or repairs.
- Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
- Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
- Study blueprints and manufacturers manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
- Models company values and ethical behavior in all relationships with internal and external customers.
- Assures the proper operation of a wide variety of mechanical machines and devices including pumps engines motors conveyors compressors and laboratory equipment by observing mechanical machines in operation and listening to them to locate the source of malfunctions lubricating and cleaning mechanical machines dismantling the machines in order to repair or replace inoperative part such as belts fans motors and pumps and adjusting the machines to prescribed operating standards or performance rates.
- Repairs existing structures according to work orders or verbal instructions by inspecting the work site to determine the materials equipment tool requirements and methods to be used developing a plan or lay out for the project or following a blueprint sketch or schematic assembling fabricating or building and installing materials equipment or fixtures as required by the scope of work.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventive predictive and corrective maintenance on production and utility equipment
- Diagnose mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic issues
- Rebuild align and replace components such as bearings seals pulleys belts pumps and motors.
- Perform equipment overhauls during shutdowns or planned maintenance windows.
- Recommend improvements for equipment reliability and performance. GMP & Compliance Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation (work orders calibration logs PM records) in accordance with
- Ensure all work complies with FDA cGMP safety and internal quality standards.
- Follow proper change control processes for equipment modifications or part changes. Safety & Housekeeping

- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
- Perform Lockout/Tagout confined space and other safety procedures as required.
Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:Education & Experience Technical degree in industrial mechanic science or equivalent. 3 years of industrial mechanical experience preferably in a pharmaceutical biotech food or other GMP-regulated industry. Experience with mechanical systems pneumatics hydraulics pumps and rotating equipment. Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems is a plus. Skills & Competencies Strong troubleshooting and mechanical diagnostic skills. Ability to read mechanical drawings schematics and equipment manuals. Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g. SAP Maximo). Knowledge of GMP FDA regulations and cleanroom practices. Effective communication teamwork and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger handle feel or operate equipment tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand walk talk or hear; sit; climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions near moving mechanical parts exposed to wet and or humid conditions and an odorous atmosphere may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock andoccasionally work on ladders in high places in small spaces such as lift/metering stations manholes tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
