Job Summary
Description
The Treadwell Arena crew is a small but enthusiastic staff and we are looking for an independent night owl to join our team. Ideally we would like an individual who is interested in helping us maintain the high standard of cleanliness at a favorite recreational facility.
WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position works a varied schedule (Monday through Sunday) 11:00pm-6:00am at Treadwell Arena in Douglas.
Typical Responsibilities
- Vacuums sweeps dusts scrubs and mops floors bleachers players benches & locker rooms.
- Keeps restrooms clean by sweeping scrubbing and cleaning; disinfects and deodorizes urinals and toilet bowls; washes sinks mirrors and fountains; maintains in a clean sanitary condition.
- Maintains custodial closet and storage room. Responsible for making sure all containers are labeled with correct contents.
- Operates pressure washer to clean and maintain rubber mats.
- Rakes and picks up trash from grounds.
- Cleans walks by sweeping and hosing; shovels snow and chips ice; spreads salt on walks.
- Empties all trash receptacles as necessary inside and outside of facility.
- Contributes to building security by closing and locking windows and doors.
- Replaces fluorescent tubes stocks paper and soap dispensers.
- Maintains and makes minor adjustments to janitorial equipment according to manufacturers recommendations.
- Maintains written reports of cleaning schedules equipment maintenance and supplies inventory.
- Performs other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
None
Experience:
Three months of janitorial and cleaning experience in commercial settings involving the use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and solvents.
NOTE:
Some positions may require an Alaska Drivers License at time of appointment and for continued employment.
