What Youll Do as an Autism Aid II
- Support therapeutic activities for children with autism
- Implement and monitor behavior plans
- Observe interests and encourage meaningful engagement
- Maintain a safe structured and supportive environment
- Communicate clearly to promote learning and cooperation
- Model appropriate social behavior and routines
- Supervise children and support skill development
- Assist with daily preschool functions
- Step into a leadership role when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma plus two (2) years of relevant college coursework (Social Work Psychology Special Education Elementary Education Child Development or related field)
- One (1) year of experience as an Autism Aide I or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Patience empathy and professionalism when working with young children
- Ability to follow established guidelines and adapt to changing needs
- Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred
- Positive attitude reliability and willingness to learn
- Spanish-speaking applicants may qualify for a wage increase

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing.
